ART YOU CAN REALLY LIVE WITH
URBAN NOIR is a Brooklyn based home accessories company founded by Cassandra Scanlon. Cassandra was born in Chicago,IL and has been an artist since she was a child. Her mother took her often to their local park district, libraries and museums for children's art, dance and story time activities. In high school she studied painting and photography, while working as a teacher's aide on weekends in The School of the Art Institute's monitor program. She was awarded a half tuition scholarship to the Illinois Institute of Art where she studied fashion design & graduated with honors in 2006. In 2007 she moved to Brooklyn, New York and has worked with many well known fashion brands such as Express, Bonobos, Catherine Malandrino, Viva Cava & Viva Vena, VPL & Zac Posen. In 2014 Cassandra started developing URBAN NOIR with the goal of creating something small, of the moment, yet personal. Something people can can enjoy beyond gender and size. Something people can live with.
Here at URBAN NOIR we understand that everyone is different and we are focused on giving you options to fit your lifestyle. We offer you the choice of down or down alternative inserts in our decorative pillows and are committed to providing you the option of real or vegan leather when possible on select styles.
INNOVATIVE & DISTINCTIVE DESIGN
URBAN NOIR is not just one thing. We like to think of ourselves as mixed media artists for the home as we love screen printing and mixing textiles in our designs. Our goal is to continuously keep our vision fresh, exciting and most of all unique for all of our customers.
Here at URBAN NOIR we are fully aware of the impact the textile industry has on the environment. We are focused on using eco-friendly inks & dyes in our printing & dyeing processes. We also do our very best to recycle textiles properly and plan to engage and reward our customers who do so too in 2017.
